Better control of your money:
Jennifer understands hard-working citizens like you. She has helped others balance their checkbooks at Wachovia Bank, pinched her own pennies while she was a single mother, and understands the hardship that citizens are in from her experience working in credit collections. If we can’t balance the NC budget, how can we do anything else?
By ending government waste and using the John Locke Foundation’s budget guidelines, Jennifer proposes to:
Create a net tax cut of $530 million Eliminate the deficit Repeal last year's hikes in sales and income taxes Stimulate the economy through additional tax relief and highway investment Protect high-priority items such as public safety and classroom teachers Jennifer would also assume 0% revenue growth instead of the John Locke Foundation’s 1%. Jennifer also proposes getting rid of taxes on basic necessities like: food, shelter, and utilities.
Invest in Education:
Jennifer, a mother herself, values a good education. She feels that parents, not the government, should be in control.
· Keep the State government’s hands out of the cookie jar! Since 60% of the state budget is used for public education, and 60% of the state’s income comes from income taxes, income taxes should be specifically dedicated to public education alone.
· Parents need choices! Jennifer proposes a tax credit to anyone who sponsors a child in private or home school. All tax credits will not exceed the per capita cost of public school. This would save money for the state, allowing for further reduction of income taxes.
Jennifer knows that you have a lot on your mind. Won't you e-mail her about other issues that are important to you as well?
