Google PageRank: What Is All The Fuss About?.

Pandia:The SearchKing Google controversy revisited

I missed this story earlier. I first posted something here about search engine guru Danny Sullivan's excellent article on SearchEngineWatch about the lawsuit between SearchKing and Google over the latter's PageRank algorithm, until my trusted colleague Mr. Loch points out he linked to that story two weeks ago when the news was fresh. He now provides the link above with the update to the story since then.

If you're curious about Google PageRank (and if you care about Internet marketing, you should be) and you still haven't read Danny's original account of the whole lawsuit, click the link below. It does a great job laying out not only the lawsuit but just what exactly PageRank is and why folks are so exercised about it. If you've already read the piece, check out how the story's developed with the link above.

Getting Off SpamCop's Blacklist.

EmailSherpa.com: Steps if You're Blacklisted by SpamCop - How to Fix it

This is important stuff. Alexis Gutzman, MarketingSherpa's Managing Editor for Reports, and all round email technology expert, outlines SpamCop's overall policy, and suggests a three step plan to deal with getting blacklisted. This is worth reading in full, but in brief:

1. Call your ISP.
2. Call your broadcast email vendor.
3. Write to SpamCop to prove that the subscriber really did opt-into your list and confirmed.
