More Contemporary (by being virtual) Pots

Continuing with yesterday's subject, virtual ceramics- (See John's On-line art for my own humble offerings.)

Here are several more places that deal with virtual pots-

Computer Aided Design of pottery; Vinod Nautival et al. How to draw pots using various computer methods. Also cites other sourcers with similar information.

Virtual Gallery with pots This one looks to have a whole virtual gallery. Unfortunately I can't understand the language and can't run the plug-in to view it. There is a small picture of a pot on a pedestal, 'tho.

3d Archaeological Illustrations of pots. They can be rendered using computers that take into account the characteristics of the shards.

Good old, Ceramics Today has a Virtual Ceramic area:

Jeroen Bechtold's fanciful 3D illustrations.

"Inside the White Cube" by Steven Goldate. A good look at what are the possibilities of virtual ceramics.

An even older ClayNet's Virtual Ceramics section includes more thoughts by Steven Goldate in his article "CyberCeramics."

Cyber Tiles 3d illustrations of tiles from the lost molds of Ernet Bathcer, by the tilenut.

Virtual Ceramics Project E. Jay Sims. Exploration of cup illustrations.

Several thoughts over these past two days:

Are pictures of pots, virtual pots?

Are pictures of pots merely illustrations of the artist's idea?

Would pots that were created in a persistent online multiplayer game, like the ones we looked at yesterday with Everquest, be more appropriately called virtual? These can be used by virtual people, and thus are not merely illustrations...

I dunno...more questions than answers...yet there seems to be something to all this...
