One shouldn't be surprised that the images offered seem to run pretty much along the lines of Komar and Melamid's art work based on market research. Of course the different images change the meaning of the plate. The ceramic plate in this case is really just a frame and is very much a secondary element. These pieces are traditionally not something one would eat off of, but are meant for display. However, by placing the image on a ceramic plate the piece does carry the understanding of ceramic collectables, of which, collectable plates are a major category.
