Potter's T-Shirts, con't. Tee-Construction a brief history of the T-shirt follows the advent of the T-shirt we know today. (By the end of WWI) the
phenomenon of the T-shirt [~] the one garment capable of displaying
class, sexual orientation, cultural affiliation and the advertising of
same [~] was born.
I think other garments have been (and currently are) capable of displaying the above (E.G. sacred robes, a military wear, sports gear. ) The T-shirt does seem to be the most obvious. Here, again, we see mentioned the T-shirt as being a method of class distinction. I wonder how this plays into pottery being craft Vs art? Something to look into for sure.... 6:47:35 AM |
