TOO LITTLE TIME ON MY HANDS

Even though my "to do" list at work keeps getting longer instead of shorter and the paper keeps coming into my desk faster than I can make it go out (weren't we supposed to be living in a paperless society by now?), I've decided to download Phoenix 0.5 from the Mozilla Organization and give it a spin as a web browser on my WinTel machine at home. I'm still comparing Camino 0.7 to Safari on my PowerBook I use at work and still trying to get my Linux box to work since I moved to RedHat 8.0. For now I've decided to treat the Linux box as a "toy" though I hope to someday set it up as a server for this blog (gee, it almost sounds like I know what I'm talking about).

Ah, the power of procrastination.

EVERYBODY LOVES OPENING DAY

I think Yogi Berra once said that "home openers are great, at home and on the road." Well, the Yankees got snowed out yesterday. Ah, I love springtime!

MY "YES I KNOW IT'S TUESDAY" MONDAY MISSION

PromoGuy's Monday Mission 3.14

1. Would you rather impress or influence others? Why? Which do you tend to do more than the other?

I would rather influence others, but only if it can be in a positive way. The only person I have to impress is me.

2. Are you able to admit your weaknesses to others? How do you handle your weaknesses (Can you accept them and see them as a strength? (Do you strive to overcome them? etc.)

Weaknesses? What are you kidding? But honestly, I have a hard time admitting my weaknesses and do my best to overcome them. I see them as lessons, but not as a strength.

3. How do you react when you are bossed around, treated as inferior or taken advantage of?

I tend to become very, very uncooperative, even if it ends up hurting me in the long run.

4. Do you live your life to meet your own needs, or do you live to meet the needs of others? Why?

Right now, due to circumstances beyond my control, I am living my life to meet the needs of others. The reason is the financial fallout from my divorce.

5. This is your Mission on Mondays, but what is your mission in life?

To “make disciples of all the nations.” (Matthew 28:19). “To break unjust fetters and undo the thongs of the yoke, to let the oppressed go free, and break every yoke, to share bread with the hungry and shelter the homeless poor, to clothe the naked . . . do away with the yoke, the clenched fist, the wicked word.” (Isaiah 58:6-8, 10).

6. Can you focus on your goals and achieve them, or are you sidetracked by minor distractions along the way?

Too often my brain is “multi-tasking.”

7. When was the last time you cried? What were you feeling at that moment (anger, sadness, etc.)?

When the shuttle Columbia was destroyed. I felt great sadness.

BONUS: Who can it be knocking at my door?

I don’t know. Why don’t you look out your peephole and see?

Today's Comment Question: How much is a gallon of gasoline where you live? (leave your state & city for reference)

Regular is $1.53 a gallon here in Hondoland (a/k/a Sopranoland)
