Could the aftermath of what appears to be an inevitable U.S. war on Saddam Hussein is half as bad as what Krugman outlines? Turkey in control of Kurdish Northern Iraq? The bulk of Saddam's Sunni-led power structure left to rule over the Shiite majority?
I fear that we are going to intensify hatred for the U.S. in a region where I would not have thought that possible, heretofore. Not hatred of our freedom, either, but hatred of our distance, ignorance, and callousness.
Maybe that will not happen, and we will have something like a Marshall Plan for the region that will lead to a more stable region and a safer world. The fact that the administration forgot to put aid to Afghanistan into the 2004 budget until the last minute does not bode well, though. |
Good for some giggles, though you probably need to have at least some passing familiarity with the comic book character. This is my favorite entry so far.
(Though only related by both being "written" by fictional characters, this did remind me of the Barbie blog I ran across months back.) |
