Keys, Please

I've been wanting an OS X app that would store my ssh keys in the "window manager", so that any app I launch would have ssh-agent keys running. Looks like sshAgent fits the bill nicely. I installed it and it Just Worked.

Moztop Rewrite, Part 2 of 42

At Stephan's prodding, I escaped from the refactoring rabbit hole on Moztop and landed the checkin for the rewrite. There's still more to be done to catch with where we were feature-wise, but the foundation is there to correctly support what we need to do next.

I wrote an update on what's happening. This note has a screenshot with an explanation of what's happening.

Weird Zope Moment

Last week we had dinner at the house of some friends, who invited a couple we hadn't met. I sat beside them at dinner, and the husband asked what I do. I've gotten used to the challenge of explaining Zope, so I asked if he had heard of Linux. "Yes, of course". So I said we do something like Linux, but for web applications.

His response? "Oh, so it's something like Zope?"

I stared at him, expressionless, for several moments while I underwent a core dump. The stranger sitting next to me at an ordinary dinner in France uses Zope as the first response when thinking about Linux-like web applications?

Ok, so it's official, this Zope thing is pretty freakin' big in Europe. And you can imagine the expression on his face when my wife told him who I was. :^)

Help Needed For Brochure

We're making progress on shared marketing material for Zope. The next step is one of those rare cases where programming is the solution to a marketing problem. If you know XSLT, XSL-FO, or ReportLab, and can help produce well-designed PDF and HTML output, please drop me a note.
