Monkeys Don't Write Shakespeare. Six simians given a computer for a month don't even begin to rewrite the works of Shakespeare, as the famous axiom predicts. Instead, they act like, well, chimps. [Wired News]

Seems like a headline straight from The Onion doesn't it? It's a pretty funny article. I laughed particularly hard at what the chimps did to the keyboard.

Here is an interesting blog post by Kevin Rosenberg that shows some of the power and efficiency you can gain by refactoring your code. This example specifically applies to Lisp, but the ideas hold true for other languages as well. Especially the idea of breaking up long functions.
