PROVEN BEYOND DOUBT - THE CASE FOR IMPEACHMENT What this blog has stood for since its beginning, that the war against Iraq was illegal, is now proven beyond doubt by six new secret British documents that have been leaked. The whole world was deceived by Bush and Blair. (More movie clips.) Right-wing Americans now are supporting torturers, not democracy. THE SUGARED PILL Yesterday's post is just cold off the press when my fears are already confirmed. It was obvious George W. Bush would not give 'aid' for free. IPS: "The finance ministers' agreement contains a provision on privatisation that has the potential to deliver to them more money than they wrote off. The ministers reaffirmed in a statement at the end of their two-day meeting Saturday that 'in order to make progress on social and economic development, it is essential that developing countries put in place the policies for economic growth'. Among these, they must 'boost private sector development, and attract investment', and ensure 'the elimination of impediments to private investment, both domestic and foreign'." We are all experiencing the havoc privatisation is causing in health care, public transport and more. Privatisation in developing nations is murder. It is the same thing as having absolute power over those nations, power wielded by foreign multinationals. It is, in short, global imperialism, the bitter pill to be swallowed together with the sugared coating of debt relief for a limited number of chosen countries.
