London Strategic Voter: "Our aim is to make available the information London's progressive voters need to make the London local elections on 4 May 2006 a crucial part of the process of kicking Tony Blair out of 10 Downing Street, not letting him walk when he chooses.
We are a website for all those heartily sick of Tony Blair and New Labour, and finding themselves looking for 'left of New Labour' electoral alternatives and tactical voting options."

Salon: "Key Democrats denounced Terrence Boyle on Capitol Hill Monday and Tuesday, after a Salon report revealed that the controversial judge, nominated to one of the nation's highest courts by President Bush, violated federal law on conflicts of interest. As the debate over Boyle heated up, the White House acknowledged that Boyle should have recused himself in cases involving companies in which he owned stock - but continued its support of the nominee."

Salon: "A Salon/CIR investigation reveals that Terrence Boyle, a key circuit court nominee touted by the White House and Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist, ruled in multiple cases involving corporations in which he held investments."

Senlis Council: "Indicators show insurgents and terrorist groups are gaining power in increasingly large parts of Afghanistan - the already weak Central government is losing more ground.
Crop eradication strategies are threatening entire communities."
The Senlis Council report (pdf).

RN: "Dutch Minister of Defence Henk Kamp has warned that if Afghanistan becomes too dangerous for Dutch troops deployed there to continue their work, they should return home."

Even before the Dutch troops have arrived, one of their few Apache AH-64 was irretrievably damaged in Afghanistan after it was blown on its side by a Russian cargoplane. The plane was taxiing to the runway and the Apache was parked nearby.

AtlantaProgressiveNews: "36 US House Representatives have signed on as sponsors or co-sponsors of H. Res 635, which would create a Select Committee to look into the grounds for recommending President Bush[base ']s impeachment, Atlanta Progressive News has learned.

Meanwhile, at least twelve (12) US cities, including Arcata, Berkeley, San Francisco, and Santa Cruz, each in California; Woodstock in New York; and Battleboro, Brookfield, Dummerston, Marlboro, Newfane, Putney, and Rockingham, each in Vermont, have passed resolutions calling for Bush's impeachment.

In addition, the State Legislatures in California, Illinois, and Vermont are each considering impeachment resolutions, which, if passed, could fast track the impeachment issue to the US House."

A picture named UkesNY.jpg
I can't get enough of these pictures from the Uke Man.
"The 'Ukulele National Guard' assembled at the call from 'Ukuleles for Sanity' and did its part on April 29 in New York City, to confront the true axis of evil!!"
I love you people.
After all those bad and ugly faces of madcap Republicans on the media, it is so refreshing to see these honest, decent, peace-loving Americans. I say, 'I am an American!'
Love from Amsterdam.
