DearKitty: "Latest news from Dutch TV site nosnieuws: the Dutch Rightist MP, known (wrongly, as turns out now) as Ms Ayaan Hirsi Ali will be resigning from Parliament.
In practice, in disgrace, after Dutch TV exposed her lies on her past, including even her name (which is really Magan) and birth date, which are in her Dutch passport, which she acquired against Dutch inmmigration rules.
Born in Somalia, having spent most of her life in Kenya, she became known as an MP for the Rightist VVD party for her attacks on Islam, her advocacy of no more aid for Africa, and of the Iraq war.
Though herself technically a refugee, and one who had broken rules, she supported the anti refugee policies of her VVD party colleague, Minister Verdonk.
She is said now to join the American Enterprise Institute, one of the most prominent pro Bush pro war neocon spin factories in the USA.
George W Bush no doubt will give her a US passport soon. Now that her Dutch passport turns out to have a false name and false birth date."

Ayan Hirsi 'Ali' is showing herself again a career woman who has no qualms about betraying her family and her upbringing for personal profit and who jumps ship whenever it is in her favour. However, many people are glad to be rid of her, because she has not achieved anything (apart from her personal gain), on the contrary, she only added to strife and controversy. Now she is joining the lie factory and she is bringing her 'credentials' and as a notorious liar she will be welcomed with open arms by lying neocon America.

Observer: "The International Monetary Fund is in behind-the-scenes talks with the US, China and other major powers to arrange a series of top-level meetings about tackling imbalances in the global economy, as the dollar sell-off reverberates through financial markets.
Amid tumultuous trading, which sent the dollar to its lowest level in a year against the euro in late trading on Friday and gave the FTSE its worst day for three years, the IMF was working privately to exercise its new powers to bring decision-makers together.
'We are in meltdown mode,' said David Brown, chief European economist at Bear Stearns. 'It's all being whipped up into a bit of a selling frenzy. The dollar has a massive portfolio of negatives against it: it's the long-term problems of the trade deficit, and the government's budget deficit.'
Analysts believe the weakening of the dollar is the beginning of a long-awaited readjustment in the global economy. After the Federal Reserve appeared to hint last week that it could pause in its series of interest rate rises, attention in the markets switched to the weaknesses of the US economy."

While the media are once again focused on the former East German Stasi (State Security), the story of spying by the West German BND (Bundesnachrichtendienst) is getting less coverage.
DeutscheWelle: "Germany's intelligence agency, the BND, illegally spied on journalists and kept tabs on their professional and private lives, according to a report by the former chief judge of the Federal Court of Justice, Gerhard Schäfer, who on Wednesday presented the findings to a parliamentary committee investigating the agency."

Women are being kidnapped and held for a night by men who want to marry them, thereby making eventual nuptials a necessity, according to local traditions.
