Tony Blair is taking advantage of the flaws in his own administration - his failure to execute the law - to attack civil rights, the separation of powers and the independence of the courts.

Observer: "Tony Blair is planning a radical overhaul of Britain's controversial human rights legislation after claims that the present laws put the rights of criminals above those of victims.
In a move which brought immediate criticism from human rights' experts, the Prime Minister wants the government to have the power to override court rulings. The move comes only days after Blair criticised a senior judge for preventing the deportation of nine Afghan refugees who hijacked a plane to Britain. Downing Street said he was determined to find a way around such 'barmy' court rulings."

Why should the 'judgement' of one 'barmy' war criminal be better than the judgement by court judges?

A picture named Zafon.jpg Much better than The Da Vinci Code is the book by Carlos Ruiz Zafón La Sombra del Viento, The Shadow of the Wind.
It is a book about books, a book of mystery in the city of Gaudí; it's about the joy of reading in a period of political upheaval and personal tragedy. It is written with loving care and attention. It is a poetical book, with a wink to the gothic and the psychological. One should savour each word and flower of speech delicately.
This Spanish edition is a very fine edition in the best tradition of printing. It is embossed with the image of the dragon made by Gaudí for the Casa Güell.
I hope the English translator was equal to the task of rendering that poetical language.
The author has composed four piano pieces which you will find ready for download after you have successfully played this game. It's in Spanish. If you have trouble getting to the music, drop me a line.

BringItOn!: "These days I find myself overwhelmed by truly awful ideas. They've crossed the border between merely bad and ill conceived to dangerous and catastrophic. Each day brings a new injury to our country. Each day people are called traitors, the flags come out like poppies on a Flanders field, and Chicken Little runs around shouting, '9/11! 9/11!'. And just as surely, a complacent public says, 'Ehhh, it doesn't directly affect me, so what do I care'.
I'm sad.
I am willing to fight on."

And thank you for that. That's how millions of people feel and how I feel.
While some Democrats are doing a good job, most of them are screwing the nation as if it were an intern. And that is very sad.
But we will fight on. And when that is no longer possible in America, you can join us in Europe and continue the fight from here. You have the support of the majority of the world population.

ITMFA! Impeach the usurper.
