iPod Updated

An aquaintance expressed concerned the other day after learning that the expected life of an iPod is about three years. I've had mine for, oh, 26 months and can attest that it is working just as good as ever (get off my case, I'm not an english major). It can probably last for many more months without problem, especially since it has been seeing reduced play time thanks to my iShuffle.

Even so, I've been wanting an updated iPod for about the past 18 months and it's been difficult to hold off for at least 8 months. Apple has once again enhanced the iPod family by offering the photo iPod with a 30 GB hard drive for $349. That's $120 less than my 20 GB G2 pod. Additionally, my screen is missing 65,000 or so colors that are offered with photo screen.

A 36 month life span may be about a year two long. I find myself enjoying thoughts of a forced upgrade due to iPod failure. Sure, that would be great..........
