Friday, of course

" I always consider the settlement of America with reverence and wonder, as the opening of a grand scene and design in providence, for the illumination of the ignorant and the emancipation of the slavish part of mankind all over the earth."

-- John Adams

After beginning the book "1776" I was curious about McCullough's book on John Adams. I purchased the Adams book a few years back, read the first few pages and set it aside. After combing through the basement I found it among some of my Dave Berry and Patrick McManus books.

I'm now about 100 pages into it and won't really spend much time with other reading until I'm finished. It's a fascinating and inspiring read. Better than anything else I've experienced lately..........
