Here is an excellent reality check on any wireless dev project:

A good exercise is to touch base with these risks and determine mitigation strategies.

1) Selecting the right/wrong devices
<This is the stage I'm in right now>

2) Choosing the right/wrong network
<Not even at the data gathering stage yet>

3) Not realizing you need custom development
<I'm assuming I need custom development - not custom tools>

4) Understanding your security risk
<Same as #2>

5) Putting the pieces together
<This is where a consultant may come in handy>

6) Knowing when you're ready for prime time
<You want an alpha program? I got yer alpha program>

7) Understanding the real world challenges
<This is my main asset to developing in general>

8) Understanding the certification process
<Same as #2>

9) Expanding the application's scope
<This is a challenge? Hard to keep it from happening>

10) Keeping pace with evolving technologies
<Yes, it's needed, but a truly useful thing is still useful even if the world evolves around it in other ways.>
