My pocket pc won’t recharge. Every time I leave it on the charger, the light starts out orange and then turns green as if to say “done charging.” However I pull it up and the charge is ½ of what it was. It loses less charge if I don’t charge it at all. I called tech support and they told me where the soft reset was. Reminded me of ejecting floppies from the old macintoshes: using the paperclip to jam that little hole. Apparently you need to use the soft reset 2 or so times a day. Poor thing no wonder it’s been jammed up. I’ll give this a try and see if it fixes the recharge problem: the tech said that all the alerts actually come from the meter, not from the battery charge itself, so if the meter is hung you will look like you have no charge even though you have plenty. If so, definitely a design error. An easy-to-make one, though. I’m thinking about the degree of redundancy that would have to be in the design process to catch this one, and I know it’s rare. So I won’t throw stones. comment []10:37:11 AM ![]() |
