I do not understand why people insist on conflating influenza and the "stomach flu". I just sent out my annual email to colleagues, heartily recommending flu shots as very cheap insurance. One replied "too late, I just go over the stomach flu". They are completely unrelated! I know, there are so many misonceptions around a constellation of these topics--wet and cold gives you a cold, flu shots can give you the flu...
