Shutter-priority mode yesterday, aperture-priority today. Anna-Claire and Ainslee each made dioramas for a school project, and I wanted to take a picture with natural lighting, but at ISO 50, which yields by far the best results on my camera. So I hauled out the new tripod, put the set aperture-priority to 2.8, and voila!

Long NYT article on Dell vs. HP, mostly focusing on competition in printers. Michael Dell says his biggest mistake was not getting into printers earlier, and Dell now aims to cut inkjet consumables costs by 25-35%. I definitely think that is a viable and appropriate tactic. We all know that inkjet margins are huge, so let's attach those. I understand HP's desire for high margins to recoup their R&D costs, but I hope--for their sake, and mine as a consumer--that they are alert to this competitive threat, and respond aggressively in kind.
