Back from a week in the Costa del Sol of Spain, including four days on the M.S. Deutschland. What a great trip! Barcelona, Valencia, Malaga and Lisbon.

We had excellent weather, no rain and hardly any clouds. Very beautiful. I really liked the Spanish cities. We were such a short time at each destination, we didn't really have time for in-depth sightseeing--it was more impressionistic. Favorite attraction: the Gaudi-designed Sagrada Family Cathedral, which is still under construction, expected to be complete around 2020. Favorite day: the bike tour of Valencia. Biking is a great way to see things.

Although the weather was great, it wasn't the Caribbean. On land, with sun shining, it was ideal, but on the ship, with a 25-knot breeze, it was cool-ish. Most people sitting out were wrapped in blankets (not huddled, but loosely wrapped).

A week away from respnsibilities, including parenting responsibilities (thanks, Mom and Dad!) is very refreshing. It is good to be back, though.
