I have this client that the sky is falling constantly and he keeps telling me that I told him I'd be at a specific point in time at 8am. First why the hell would I schedule myself at 8am, I would have never told him that, never ever but he does not listen and if he made a mistake, everyone is to blame but him, it is everyone else's fault but his. His hillside is sliding, its not his fault but the rain's fault. And he has this project that he keeps wanting me to do - which is work on his mother's stuff - I have no problem working on his mom's stuff but I do have a problem with the way he treats her and her stuff - she likes to put everything in bags, she pays a bill, puts in a bag and while I understand that her way of living annoys him, she's not going to change her habits unless he locks her up and she's not old or senile, she chooses to tune people out but she's not deaf or dumb. I really like her but I have an issue with way he treats her. He has to be in the midst of everything and tells her what to do. The thing is, she's the one paying me, not him. I also kind of get it, she grew up in the depression, her constant buying of things makes sense, she's storing it all for a rainy day. And while I understand his need to clean out the space occasionally, throwing out her mementos just isn't cool to me. His needing to be in the middle of everything doesn't work for me either, it would be so much easier, if I could just deal with her directly. And his need/his brother's need to control her money, doesn't really sit right with me either. I think she really could benefit from a third party estate planner.

How do I fix this? Ah, the truth and a proposed plan of action email sent. Its gone and out there. Let's let magick weave its wonder and see what happens

Its Halloween and I had so many plans to go out, go to a wiccan circle, decorate the house really cute, do the pumpkin carvings and right now, all I want to do is turn off all the lights and pretend I'm not home. So many grand plans delayed by the reality that its the end of the month and I had to work through the night to get paid by my clients today to pay the bills, pay the employees, pay the mortgage..hmm, maybe Thanksgiving will work out better...

Happy Halloween to everyone, may your night be filled with lots of treats, happy hunting

Its a rare moment these days that I have an internet connection, apparently Comcast did some server maintenance the last few nights which has brought down several of their connections and since I have residential service, the attitude was like, oh well, we can get someone out there on Saturday to take a look again. They have tried to reset the modem at least 10 times, told me to restart my computer tons of times, treated me like it wasn't an issue, reading through their scripts on what the next step to do and not listening to me when I told them over and over again the same thing, the fucking lights aren't blinking or do anything. The first time I call, I was put on hold then disconnected. I called back and actually got a guy that knew more than little about computers, he had a service call dispatched right away, the same day. The tech come out, climb the pole, switch the cables, troubleshot the modem and I had the best connection I had ever had from Comcast for all of 5 hours - that was great service and it was the same day too. Later that night, called back, they reset the modem and hung up on me. I called back again, she had me on the phone reseting the modem constantly for 2 hours and then told me well we've been doing some maintenance and I can send a tech out on Saturday to check if the modem is bad. You think? Wait, you're telling me I have to wait til Saturday to fix a problem you guys caused? Her answer, was well if you have a business you should have business class service and a tech would be dispatched same day for service. So basically residential customers are just screwed? For the amount of money we pay Comcast, you'd think they would (1) notify people of a potential outage for maintenance (2) dispatch someone within 24 hours for service if they caused the problem.

And without or with spotty internet connection, I can not work. I can't remote to people's sites, I can not do blog design. I can't even use my home phone - because its all connected. At times, its almost like I'm on dial up service. Maybe I should bill them for the lost production time.

And so what does a girl do? She goes out and gets Business Class service, they actually called me back right away, the have scheduled a tech right away to do the transistion - what a concept, its called Customer Service. And in the meantime, at least I got to blog for a moment and wait, I actually started to read my book that's been sitting on the shelf for months.

I now know that I can not live without an internet connection, its all connected
