St. Charles Medical Center-Bend and at St. Charles Medical Center-Redmond are poised to launch a $14 million electronic medical records system (EMR) on Tuesday
The Bend Bulletin posts a story today on their Web site revealing the details of the Cascade Healthcare Community's plan for these two Oregon hospitals.
Cascade Healthcare Community (CHC), the hospitals' parent company and Central Oregon's largest employer, is among about 10 percent of the nation's hospitals that is using electronic medical records, according to Karen Fitzgerald, an education specialist at CHC.
Mention is made of wireless handhelds and PC (on carts) which are meant to streamline patient care as well as reducing medical errors.
