Untitled Document

Cool blog pointed to by Dave including a funky post on protecting your "secret blog".

Best thing to weblog about is weblogging ;o) seriously!

Cogdogblog (which amusingly my spellchecker wants to change to "Judicable" ;o) and SiT are getting excited about Pachyderm (an authoring tool for learning objects) "The Elephant Flies, Soars (Pachyderm / Learning Object Dialogue Day)".

Had a look at some of the documents (only cursory mind) and, sigh, while it looks like a decent enough tool for making materials, I'd get much more excited if they'd just had a day where people talked about ways of teaching.

The world needs less content... [MORE THAN] half the time it just gets in the way of learning!

'elearning' 'excellence' 'parp'

Thanks to Dan for the thoughts on that dodgy Cisco 'elearning in Africa' article, I particularly liked his comment:

"I'm equally annoyed (as I have written here before) with the notion of "eLearning." It is just learning - I don't care if you use "e" to do it or not.

The scary thing is that some people swallow this nonsense."

And in that vein... keepin' up the bitchin' ;o) this link via elearnspace stokes my boat in other ways!

"The way to e-learning excellence The new reference document Paving the way to excellence in e-learning has been produced by the NLN Materials Team at Becta... The guidelines cover pedagogy, accessibility (both design and technical requirements), technical standards and quality assurance."

Oh good, now I can just get on with my fishing.

Outstanding waste of time... (would be a good idea too if it wasn't so expensive!) but just for a laugh... does anyone want a T-Shirt ;o)
