There is a great new radio station in our town:
KENC 102.9 FM broadcasts from Pecos. Right now I am listening to my man Dr. Feelgood (Jack Kolkmeyer) doing his show "Brave New World." Most excellent. Enchantment means New Mexico. Our logo honors the mountains and sunsets of our beloved Land of Enchantment. Our call-letters signify KENChantment. KENC's dial location is 102.9 on the FM band. Our studios and offices are at 551-c Cordova Rd. (next to Maria's) in Santa Fe. We're on the air 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
That's good...it means access to the best Margaritas for the whole staff....
What does Enchantment FM program? The best music on Earth. All kinds. Every song is special. KENC's music is eclectic...traditional & contemporary jazz, folk & acoustic, blues & bluegrass, new age & oldies, world beat & local, Latin, Cuban & more. The Enchantment FM format is truly unique and especially created for Santa Fe.
Who listens to Enchantment FM? People who like great music and no hype. Adults with expansive tastes... those who enjoy all kinds of music that is well-performed, melodious and compelling.
Who is involved in Enchantment FM? Managing Partner is Will Sims, creator of two earlier eclectic Santa Fe stations... the original KLSK of the mid 80s and Coyote Radio in the early 90s. Don Davis and Dave Clifford of Albuquerque are the other partners involved in EnchantmentFM.
Where is KENC's signal heard? All around the Greater Santa Fe area and throughout the Pecos Valley. Our main transmitter near Pecos is licensed at 25,000 watts and our Santa Fe booster station transmits 5000 watts. It adds up to great coverage of all the local market!

The Roomster, says Skoda’s Chief of Design, Thomas Ingenlath, “is for people who need space but want a good looking car” and seeing this car in the flesh it’s is hard to argue with him.
The car he has created is a very roomy version of a compact family car. No hard facts but we learn that the width and heigth combined with a long wheel base and flexible interior will make this car appear much bigger than it really is.
Here is another site, and here are more photos

As if anyone would need an excuse to go to Rome…here’s another. This Sunday, October 26th, marks the much anticipated opening of the Jubilee Church (Dio Padre Misericordioso), designed by Richard Meier & Partners. The church is already an iconic landmark of contemporary architecture in one of the world’s most historic cities, and it is sure to establish a new paradigm for international church design.

Re-innovating icons of design. Take the REBRAUN for example: Designed in 1962 by Dieter Rams, the “Audio 1 Kompaktanlage” is a milestone of german post-war design. It embodies, even more than its predecessor, the famous “snow-white’s coffin”, the design ideals of the rationalist “Ulm School”. These sober paradigms of utility and matter-of-factness are playfully remodelled in the “ReBraun”: Two TFT-Displays take the place of the radio scales, the lettering on the anodised front plate ironically quotes the lingo of the radio era. A randomly positioned button, labelled “Zufall” (Randomness) stands for the freedom from mechanical constraints. The antenna does not receive any FM radio, but is used to connect the system to the internet via Wireless LAN. The case and acrylic hood were lowered by several centimetres for sporty reasons (think: hot rod!), and the window that formerly contained a signal strength readout now becomes a tabernacle for the old Braun nameplate. There is also the REBO, a 1973 Bang&Olufsen Beocenter. The cassette slot has been replaced by a smart card reader and a DVD-drive is hidden behind a groove...Is this part of the future? Making tech comfortable by housing it in familiar pieces?
