This is a little device you wear around your neck in smog conditions or on an airplane. It is said to generate negative ions, and I believe it. When you turn it on, you see a little pulsating orange light inside and it has a slightly mechanical seashore smell to it. When I wear it, I swear I feel better. Here's what the company says about it:
"A powerful stream of over 70 trillion ions per second . . . sets up a strong electrodynamically driven air flow, drawing pollutants into the unit intake grill and ejecting purified air from the central part of the screen at a velocity of over 100 feet per minute . . . (Wearing it around your neck) . . . the negative ion stream flows directly toward the head allowing you to breathe in a continuous supply of healthful, ionized air. . .
Negative ion generators are not embraced by at least some members of the established medical community, but my appreciation of the Ionizer is not rooted in scientific fact, but rather intuition. Plus the fact that when I turn it on I can smell something like the sea breeze, albeit electronically generated, and I seem to feel good after wearing it on long flights or in traffic. When I head for Europe, I put it around my neck when I get to the airport, flip the switch, and keep it going until I get to my hotel some 12 hours later. –KK [Cool Tools] Kevin Kelly is a smart man and because I know that I am not laughing out loud. I do use a large Ionizer in the studio and I seem to have more energy while I am working for hours sitting in front of the console.....

Telephones Is it just me or are regular telephones ugly? Who designs this crap? OK, the Bang + Olufsen phones are nice, but almost 100 bucks for a corded phone without caller ID? Are they crazy? And the phone with caller ID starts at $285...and it only remembers 24 caller IDs...and the Phonebook holds only 121 numbers with names...yeah, some ugly $30 phones remember more than that. Are memory chips made by hand in Denmark?
It seems to me somebody could make a fortune designing a pleasant phone...

Radio Tags Wouldn't it be nice if we could buy a bag with 100 mini radio tags for a couple of bucks? We would stick them on everything we usually can't find...the coffee mug, a book or magazine, maybe even the pet mouse or whatever.....when we can't find something we can trigger the item from a list on our computer and it emits a sound...or if we have two radio beacons inside our dwelling the computer could triangulate the missing items location easily and show us on a map of the house......
