Plague Hits Miners in Democratic Republic of Congo. The World Health Organization says as many 400 miners in the Democratic Republic of the Congo have a highly contagious form of the plague. Health officials are concerned that the miners will leave the area and spread the disease elsewhere in the Central African country. [NPR's All Things Considered]
