Felted, fuzzy and ready to rhumba

A girl and her muff
Muff, muff, muffing along: Last night, three wild, forty-something women descended on The Recycled Lamb, declaring themselves as my students. The topic for the night: Quickie bags. They fell upon the display bags eager to begin. A novice teacher, I wasn't sure how to handle this group, but began handing out free Internet patterns, the Audrey bag pattern and displayed some of my favorites from Ribbon Knits, Vogue on the Go: Bags and Backpacks and Felted Knits. Then I passed out some junk yarn and taught them the knitted cast on and cable cast on--the only real trick to the Audrey bag--along with loop stitch and how to fringe. Homework: One finished purse by next week. "I said, the goal is FO, not UFO."
Then we dived into the store to select projects. Rozanne, taken with the still clammy muff, selected a fabulous deep pink wool she's mixing with the red, purple Gedifra Techno Hair Lungo. Cheryl is doing a glam version of the Audrey bag with Araucania Nature Wool in creme and this fabulous gold dross. And Janine lit on Crystal Palace's Deco-Ribbon bag pattern selecting a melange of greys, silver and black for one bag and a mix of creme and gold ribbon sparked with a glittery eyelash. Girls, you're going to have a happy holiday.
And, by the way, aren't you just dying to have a muff? Anyone know what to do with your purse when you carry a muff? Check for a muff gallery soon!
