Scene: Holly West, home of the Tacorito. R has just revealed that a former acquaintance, recently divorced, has just remarried.
R: In love and living in Seattle.
Me (narrowing eyes): How long were they together?
R (in that tone of voice): Six months. Long distance.
Me (rolling eyes and scooping a good bit of guacamole onto a chip): Not good.
L: I totally approve. That's something I would do.
Me: Uh uh. See them in all seasons. It's a rule.
L: Tom used to say that.
Me: I used to say that: See them in all seasons. Play a board game. Take a road trip. And not before.
R: She's got a new name. It's S, now.
Me (amazed she'd be willing to deal with that tsuris): Again?
R: Well, she sounds blissful.
C: I need another margarita.
