What did Baghdad do to deserve this?

It's one of the world's most beautiful cities, but Baghdad is having it tough right now. Its 5 million inhabitants have been "liberated" into a situation where their fear of each other is as great as their fear of Saddam Hussein. Nobody appears to be in control.

But wait - what's this on the TV screen? Isn't that Peter Jennings - and look, that's Tom Brokaw. And the one with the weatherbeaten face, that's Dan Rather isn't it? Oh, then everything's going to be just fine. The three wise men are here to tell you about a drive-by shooting in a suburb of Los Angeles, and a public workers' strike in Chicago. See, Uncle George promised things were going to get better. Now you can watch others having a hard time too. Isn't satellite technology marvellous?

What's that? You'd like to see something about your own country?

Don't rush us. We're working on it. Have a Big Mac and imagine you're in downtown Manhattan.
