Wanna Party??

The party that best represents holistic health in its platform? That's easy. The Natural Law Party.

Why Some Republicans Don't Care About Pollution

Socialized Healthcare? Uh-uh, I'm From Canada!

The Democrats are predictably trying to resolve the healthcare crisis in the U.S. by creating huge government bureaucracies and even, in some cases, single-payer systems. Being from Canada originally, I can tell you exactly how bad socialized medicine is. It is horrible. Yes, everyone is covered. But that's the only good thing about it. The quality of medical care is lower, the cost is huge, because government workers are always less efficient than corporations, and I can relate several stories about people dying while waiting for critical care because no one has incentives to give patients the care they need.
The answer? Well, there probably is not ONE right answer, but I think a factor that all the candidates are forgetting about (for good reasons) is holistic health. It is cheaper, more effective, and safer. The Western medicine system has had a good run, but it has outlived its usefulness. It needs to become a small part of the holistic healthcare system which is replacing it (as we speak). The reason I say the candidates are forgetting about holistic health "for good reasons" is because they are getting big contributions from the healthcare and pharma companies, who are losing out big in the conversion to holistic health. They don't want to alienate those donors. Maybe those donors are thinking that tweaking the current system and throwing dollars at it will be a nice gravy train. Well, maybe in the short term, but it just allows the holistic healthcare system to keep eating away at the client-base of Western medicine.

HBO has a late night "talk show" of sorts called "Da Ali G" that is so stupid it is good. But you'll need a translator to understand the host.

A Courageous Call to Arms from 1975

Vaclav Havel's open letter to communist Czech dictator Gustav Husak in April 1975 (Havel later became president of the Czech Republic):

"So far, you and your government have chosen the easy way out for yourselves, and the most dangerous road for society: the path of inner decay for the sake of outward appearances; of deadening life for the sake of increasing uniformity; of deepening the spiritual and moral crisis of our society; and ceaselessly degrading human dignity, for the puny sake of protecting your own power."

from a recent article in Reason magazine. Feel free to quote it to anyone whom you feel is doing the same thing today in your country.
