Microsoft re-explains .Net strategy

By David Becker

Yes, Virginia, there is a Microsoft .Net. The software giant's elusive strategy--a hot topic a few years ago but overshadowed by other Microsoft efforts lately--was declared alive and well during a panel at the Comdex trade show. While .Net was initially understood as a strategy for delivering software functionality as a Web-based service, it actually represents several major changes in direction for Microsoft, said John Montgomery, a group product manager for the software giant.

The Word Spy

I really like the word spy.

Today's word is a beauty

warm-chair attrition

(warm-chair uh.TRISH.un) n. The loss of workplace productivity due to employees who dislike their jobs and are just waiting for the right time to quit and move on to something better.
Microsoft has a similar term - "Rest and Vest". I've known a few folks like this in my time!
