Jerry, your e-mail questions were forwarded to me for a
reply.
1. If a person shoots geese in the City of
Cedarburg, the recommendation is to not eat them for health reason. If a
person is permitted to shoot geese in the City, they could be disposed of at a
licensed landfill, such as the location where most City collected garbage would
be disposed of.
2. While there is certainly can be similarities
between hunting from a legal waterfowl blind placed in natural vegetation rooted
to the bottom of navigable waters, such blinds are required to be removed
annually within 7 days of the season closure and may not be constructed more
then 7-days before the season opens. If placed in compliance with all laws
on placement and labeling, state law specifically allows them. State
law also specifically prohibits hunting from piers, dams, docks and similar
structures. Often times these structures are not located within natural
vegetation rooted to the bottom, and may extend well out into open waters.
Open water hunting is also generally not allowed, but there are some areas where
it is allowed (primarily very large water bodies), as well as most areas where
the hunter can stand on the bottom with out the aid of a blind or
boat.
3. Our agency does not regulate the
possession of firearm silencer devices. This would be regulated by the
Federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms. I am afraid I do not know
that answer to this question. I am not sure what is all
involved with the registration and licensing to be able to possess a firearm
silencer/suppresser, or exactly how they define
them. If a person can get licensed to possess and use one, we have
no hunting rules that would prohibit their
use.
