My friend and co-author Dan Fox has been announced as a Microsoft MVP.  Congratulations, Mr. Fox.  Everyone at Quilogy has considered him a MVP for a long time.

From Network World Fusion in April,

The cascade of security changes also will affect the way companies approach Windows Server.

"Microsoft is definitely changing the landscape," says Jon Box, senior architect for Quilogy, a professional services firm in St. Charles, Mo. "Developers and systems administrators will have to take some more time to figure things out."

On Tuesday of this week (6/29/2004), I presented at the Birmingham DevDays with Jerry Dixon and Ron Hostetter from Quilogy.  The Developer Evangelist for that area is Joe Healy and he is a entertaining show by himself.  Joe organized the event and kicked off the show.  (Thanks Joe for taking such good care of us.)

Russ Fustino, creator of Russ' ToolShed and one of the best MS speakers around, gave the closing keynote on Whidbey.  It was excellent and I love his intro music and the way that he keeps everyone entertained, involved, and enlightened.  Afterwards, we went to DreamLand in order to eat our body weight in ribs.  I came close.

The tip of the day came from Russ.  After seeing our cool lighted Atomic pens that we handed out to everyone at the event, he said that we should take some to the bar that evening becuase bartenders need illuminated writing utensils and such a gift would result in liquid benefits.  Thanks, Russ!
