I just finished listening to .NET Rocks, episode #74, that is the interview of Jeff Richter.  My name was mentioned due to my attendance at a Tablet PC Dev Lab in Redmond.  (If you get invited to these, I highly encourage you to go.)

The lab attendees got a look at the next version of the Tablet PC O/S called Tablet PC Edition 2005 and its related API, Tablet PC Platform SDK 1.7.  It is cool stuff and I hope that pen computing becomes a standard accessory on every notebook that I own in the future.  Another interesting angle about the lab was the attendee list: Charles Petzold, Jeff Richter, John Robbins, Paul Yao, Larry O'Brien, Billy Hollis, Markus Egger, Carl Prothman, Martin Shoemaker, Julie Lerman, and Dr. Neil.  And then add different members of the Tablet PC team showing up to make presentations - it was a cool week.  Man, it's a great time to be a developer.

I received a SanDisk ImageMate as a gift before Christmas.  This interesting little device is an 8-in-1 card reader and writer.  Since my family bought me an inexpensive Fujifilm FinePix A210 for Christmas, I was hopeful that I could electronically get to the images without having to load some software from the camera manufacturer but I didn't know how.  The camera has a xD card that plugs right into the ImageMate.  When the ImageMate is plugged into a Windows XP machine, the slots on the ImageMate appears as different drives.  Ah, no extra software required.  Am I now caught up to the digital video world?  Not hardly, but good enough.
