My opinion is that XP SP2 is a great enhancement for the Windows community. Yes, it changes some things that we like to take for granted, but it is a a definite move towards shrinking the attack surface of our Windows clients. One of the ares that come with this service pack is the IE enhancements including Popup Blocker. It is amazing to me how more people are not talking about this and/or seeing how it will affect their web applications. There are not too many sites that don't create a window for drilling down into information, including some of Microsoft's products like OWA. So, consider yourself warned!
If you want to know more, I've listed some resources previously. However, today is another MSDN Webcast by Tony Goodhew of Microsoft. Plus, Dan Fox built an interesting sample of a web page that shows what the web developer will go through on a XP SP2 client. Check out my webcast, Tony's webcast, or Dan's TechEd presentation for the details about the page. Or just view the source.
Tony's blog is also a good resource. Could a FirewallPermission in CAS be a good way to interact with the Windows Firewall? Check out Tony's blog...
