Mostly news stories or articles of interest in the future to me. I'll eventually get around to adding my own ideas and stories on a more regular basis.

In the beginning, there was blog. And it was good.. Welcome to the Occupational Adventure Blog. This blog will be an ever-unfolding mixed bag of nuts, loosely clustered around the the central theme of Occupational Adventure - that is, a career that really gets you juiced. Here, you might find... [The Occupational Adventure (sm) Blog]

Oh, Scott, maybe I should do this:
I am a Passion Catalyst (sm). I work with people who have gotten to the point in their careers where they're saying, heyyyyyyyyyy, wait a minute! This isn't the playground I signed up for...what am I doing here? I help them find the right playground.

Does your brain stomp on your dreams? Have you ever let a dream out into the light, only to find your mind immediately squelching it with a million reasons why it's not logical, reasonable, or rational.

Objectives

  • will impress your management, and facilitate your remaining time in that job.
  • will not substantially help your replacement(s).
  • does not betray obvious signs of sabotage.

[Ray Ozzie's Weblog] points at articles from Gelernter and Hornik regarding the death of eMail.

There were two comments I took out:

People who use Groove today, and people who used Notes in its early years (before most enterprises locked down the creation of databases), understand the personally-empowering feeling of doing work in "collaborative workspaces".

Anyone who is doing a critical business process online that involves substantial dialog between individuals should NOT be using email at this point in history, and many no longer are.

I've used Groove. It was fun, but not better than e-mail yet (at the time I used it...less than a year ago).  I would agree that email will be replaced with workspaces, they just need to be REALLY good first.
