Urban Educ8r: A Wickerblog
This weblog is dedicated primarily to the discussion of Education issues and policies, as well as to chronicling the author's experiences as an inner-city school teacher. These days, the education discussion is too much in the hands of ignorant politicians merely doing what they need to gain re-election, and not enough in the hands of knowledgable professionals with first hand experience.

WUSA Folds

I think it's a shame. Too bad. Of course, professional sports are an entertainment business, and if you can't get enough interest, you can't sell. But it's too bad that we as  a society don't see the value of having a women's sports league that was so positive and so strong, and therefore make it happen at whatever cost. It gives young female athletes as much to strive for or be inspired by as the boys. Has anyone ever thought of revenue sharing between men's and women's leagues? Didn't they do some of that with the NBA and the WNBA?  Not that the MLS is entirely successful. I guess a women's soccer league has two counts against it.
