One of the things I think is missing from "podcasting" is the ability to search and index content so that potential consumers can make more intelligent choices about whether they want to spend what is possibly considerable time listening to a particular podcast. Along comes Podscope apparently analyzing audio content and providing a text based search engine for audio content.
Certainly a step in the right direction. Dave Winer's comment "It actually understands what's being said." may be a bit of a stretch though.
