Robert Scoble has posted a statement on his feelings about Microsoft's apparent caving to the religious right on publicly supporting a bill (that has since been defeated) promoting gay rights. He also has posted Steve Ballmer's internal email on the subject. It is entirely possible that Microsoft's "position" on this bill was the cause of its defeat.
I think it takes a great deal of courage for Robert to do this. He is risking his future by publicly challenging Steve Ballmer but he is right. Ballmer's explanation of what happened and why seems a bit disingenuous at best and a lie at worst.
