It would be great if the weekly Rhino Times would update their website with the most current edition within a couple of days of it hitting the streets.  I realize that they want to get the actual hard copy distributed so folks won't just read it online and miss the advertising but it is cramping my style.

John Hammer was very kind to me in the latest edition and I want everyone to read about it but have no way to link to it yet.  The article entitled Council Needs Change hit the stands Thursday and I have been chomping at the bit to post it.

The Rhino is criticized by many as not being true journalism but they are the only other widely distributed source for local and political news besides the News & Record.  In the land of the blind, the one eyed man is king!

Hammer's writing appeals to me because it is in the weblog style:  More stream of conciousness than the "just the facts" style of most mainstream newspapers.  He gets slammed for too much editorializing... but EVERYBODY reads the Rhino!  Hard to argue with success.

Regarding my recent post/blog on the number and location of ozone pollution monitors and the methodology behind how "ozone exceedence days" are calculated to determine how bad things really are:

I received comments from readers as well as this succinct email from City Councilwoman Sandy Carmany whom I trust.  Sandy is the only member of Council running unopposed in the upcoming election and for good reason, no one could do a better job !

My information that the Wendover/Cridland monitoring hut is an ozone monitor was incorrect and I will inform my source and give him a good tongue lashing (or maybe I just did, blogs are good for that too!).

I realize that my weblog will reveal me to be both smart and stupid, informed and uninformed... but I also hope it will show that I am at least attempting to get at the facts about the issues that Greensboro faces.
