Hopefully some good news is on the horizon hints the N&R: Council to Weigh Incentives Request.

Incentives to industry have become a necessary evil, we can either play or die. 

I agree with Councilman Philips that the only way to stop the practice is through Federal legislation.  Unless the practice is banned in all U.S. jurisdictions, any local efforts to curb their useage will only result in us not being considered for relocation or expansion by industries who know we are hurting and are not above taking advantage of the situation.
