Reacting to Mike Kernel's N&R feature story marking the 20th anniversary of the SUV, frograbbitmonkey thinks that George Palamaris (picured above) suffers from "spoiled brat syndrome" and that he needs to figure out the maturity level difference between "I need" and "I want".  She makes her case in an open letter to him that would probably fly right over his not-quite-acting-like-an-adult head if he were to read it.

I wouldn't count on him reading it though because examining a thoughtful treatise and burning gas for fun just aren't compatible pastimes.  I get the idea that that the only way Palamaris would give up his Hummer is by prying the steering wheel from his cold, dead hands.

"Your enjoyment of life pollutes the air, increases our dependency on limited resources, is a specific danger to other drivers, inhibits a clear view of the road by other drivers, and uses space resources (parking, lane space) that other drivers require to safely operate their vehicles. And in your favor, the best you can come up with as a benefit to you is that "You work your (butt) off during the week. You just want to enjoy driving." - frograbbitmonkey

Rev. Michael King will be remembered for the good things that he did for Greensboro through Project Homestead and other good works, but unfortunately his legacy will also include events that became the prelude to his demise.

Today's News & Record initial report of King's life and death describes a good and promising life that ended in tragedy and innuendo this past Saturday.

The article includes some descriptors attributed to King's rise to the top of Greensboro's leadership: visionary, brilliant, ambitious, good person, leader and founder.

The parts of the article that recount the end months of his life include: coerce, overdose, turmoil, person-of-interest and embezzlement.

It is my hope that, when all of the investigations are completed, the good of King's life will be shown to far outweigh the bad.
