The polls are with the Sox
On the Sports Illustrated site (scroll down), the poll is running 62% for the Red Sox to win and 38% for the Yankees (when I last looked). On the ESPN site, there's a longer poll, but the voting is still leaning heavily on the Sox: 51.7% Red Sox in a squeaker (or squeakah as we say here), 28.5% Yankees in a squeaker, 12.4% Sox in a laughah, and 7.3% Yankees in a laugher. All of this makes Red Sox fans very anxious, of course.

No blogging tonight for me. I'll be watchin' the game. Unless of course it gets scary, then I'll catch it at the end of every 10 paces.

Frontline: Chasing the Sleeper Cell (tonight at 9)

Once again Frontline competes with a key baseball game, at least on the East coast (9pm on most PBS stations). Tape it or check your listings for alternate times. This edition, Chasing the Sleeper Cell, is about the Lackawanna Terror Case:

Questions are also raised about the effectiveness of the FBI and the CIA and whether or not the new tools they have are the right ones to contain the threat at home.

Top U.S. terrorist hunter says his God is bigger than theirs

See this NBC News article about newly appointed top terrorist hunter, Lt. Gen. William Boykin, who is an evangelical Christian. Telling a church group about a Muslim terrorist who said that Allah would protect him, Boykin said: “Well, you know what I knew that my God was bigger than his. I knew that my God was a real God, and his was an idol.”

Think Americans are responsible for Bush being in office? Na-uh:

Boykin also routinely tells audiences that God, not the voters, chose President Bush: “Why is this man in the White House? The majority of Americans did not vote for him. Why is he there? And I tell you this morning that he’s in the White House because God put him there for a time such as this.”
