Hey -- surprise surprise!  the GOP are sparing no opportunity to support the energy industry.

They held open a five-minute vote for 45 minutes in order to pressure representatives to switch their vote -- and as soon as they had the majority they needed, they immediately gaveled it closed. And go figure: Tom DeLay was a central figure.

These people have no shame at all. One of the reasons to do this on a Friday is because it will get lost in the weekend news (when few people read the paper and follow such stories). Let's hope the Sunday papers decide to report it.
