SAP Acquires Lighthammer
In breaking news, enterprise software supplier SAP has purchased software connectivity developer Lighthammer. I'm in Boston for the ARC Advisory Group Forum. Ran into Andy Chatha this morning who told me about the breaking news. A press release followed. Tomorrow I have a meeting with SAP VP Nils Herzberg so I hope to have more details.
For now, this looks like a win for Lighthammer. I figured that it would need a scenario like this. For SAP, it solidifies connections of its ERP software to manufacturing information. It should be a good deal for automation professionals, as well.
