Here's a post from Michael Arrington on the Ray Ozzie post. "New companies will be built on the back of Microsoft SSE."

G.M. Set to Announce Restructuring Plan. General Motors is expected to outline a restructuring plan on Monday that could include a series of plant closings and other cutbacks. By MICHELINE MAYNARD. [NYT > Business]

For those of us who have lived long lives knowing GM as the world's largest car company, the eminient demise of the company is poignant. Further irony is the note in this article about cuts at the Saturn plant. Remember when that was built as the "new way of building and selling cars"? Then it gradually became "GM-ized" and lost its glitter.

This is not good news for manufacturing in North America. Wonder where some leadership that pushes innovation and good manufacturing practice will come from?

Really Simple Sharing.

This is a long post from computer industry visionary Ray Ozzie so I'm just posting the link. He is now a thought leader at Microsoft. The post has very significant ideas and is worth checking out. It involves very simple ways of managing a mesh of information, such as a mix of private and public calendar sharing or using OPML in a collaborative way to manage outlines. Goes to show what XML based thinking can lead to. OK, Benson, what can you guys do with this? ":-)"
