I don't do politics on this page, just some occasional philosophy. That's a good thing. But I see that the Congressional Republicans have elected the guy who was my Congressman (my county was switched to Mike Oxley's district-you may recognize that name) as majority leader. John Boehner, pronounced in the corrupted west Ohio German as Bay-ner, ran as an anti-Congress candidate. That stance lasted as long as his being outside the leadership lasted. However, he IS one of the few in Congress to not add extra pork into the spending sausage that comes out every year. Maybe he can pass that idea along and help trim the budget.

I'm listening to Shai Agassi, president of the Product and Technology Group and SAP executive board member, on a Webcast (streaming video/audio) explain the company's new "on-demand" customer relationship management (CRM) system. On demand means that the application is hosted by SAP in partnership with IBM.
They are now demonstrating MySAP and all the cool features that it has.
I wrote about on demand applications a couple of weeks ago. We will continue to see on demand rollouts during the year.

Here is an (ahem) innovative idea--an Innovation Trip. You sign up for the seminar and start in Boston and wind up in Silicon Valley (air fare is part of the seminar cost) where you listen to lectures, attend workshops and spend time networking in informal discussions. The idea of BrainReactions LLC, the 7-day tour of Innovation and Inspiration in the US is designed to help leaders spark innovation and creativity in their organizations, revolutionizing work culture and reducing attrition.
Top experts in the field of research and discovery will share their wealth of knowledge with Innovation Trip participants: from business school professors to CEOs and presidents of consulting firms, as well as experts in employee retention.
