Reminds me of when I was in high school. I was the only kid in school who could use a slide rule (22 scales on my K+E log log rule). The teachers wouldn't let me use it in class -- unfair advantage. Then came calculators and I remember math teachers trying to devise ways to make kids think through problems and not "cheat" by using electronic means. Now a new generation and new technologies. I hope it never ends ;-)
Schools battle cell phones. The digital generation gap shows up in the attempt for schools to ban cell phones outright. Teens and parents are pushing back against the attempts to take away the phones they have come to depend on so much. [CNET News.com]
