I have the first couple of addresses here. I'd like to take a moment to describe how to go about this.
First, use snail mail, not email. Email is easy for a corporation to cope with, they have to actually pay someone a salary to sit in a cubicle and open letters by hand read them to make sure they don't contaiin anything important, like a summons, for instance.
Secondly, be polite. Take your time writing this, write seperate letters to the CEO and Head of PR if you have the time. explain why you are angry, explain what you want them to do and why. Tell them that continuing to sponsor this show will cost them your business. Explain that it's not an apology you want, but a change in their ad buying policies.
An example:
"Dear Sir/Ma'am:
I am writing to you in relation to your policy of advertising on Good Morning America and/or PrimeTime Live! with Diane Sawyer on ABC television. In light of the on-going right wing bias expressed by Diane Sawyer, I am sad to inform you that I must cease doing business with your company, as I cannot, in good conscience, continue to do business with a company that makes such conspicuous support for such un-american values as are expressed by Diane Sawyer and ABC. I look forward to doing business with your company again in the future should your advertising policies change.
Sincerely,
Joshua Whalen
Okay, now, that is your first letter. Your second, sent a month later, is like this:
Dear Sir/Ma'am
I am writing to you in reference to your continuing to advertise on Good Morning America/PrimeTime Live with Diane Sawyer. As I mentioned in my previous correspondence, Ms. Sawyer's blatant right-wing bias makes doing business with her advertisers inconsistent with basic American values of decency, fair play, and democracy. Please cease to advertise on shows featuring Diane Sawyer, so that I may resume doing business with your company again.
Sincerely,
Joshua Whalen
It's also not a bad idea if you mention what products you've bought from them in the past, so that they realize you really are a customer they are losing.
THIS TACTIC ALWAYS WORKS!
To the best of my knowledge, no consumer boycott has ever failed to change a businesses policies as long as a large enough group of people participated, and the boycott continued until it's goals were met. Bother your friends. Make them write a letter a week. Bother your mom, bother your dad, bother your kid brother and kid sister, too. Most of all, bother Diane Sawyer's advertisers until they stop buying ads on her shows.
