Did you read this issue? [posted by Troy] I don't know if you are regular Onion readers, but this week's issue is clearly in honor of the Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday. It is ironic and biting, which is the onion at its best. You can read it here.

Does it matter what the rules say? [posted by Troy] The Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (the largest and generally more liberal of Lutheran flavors) has been arguing about how Lutherans should respect/relate to/deal with homosexuals in their religion. As many of you know, I am generally a member of the ELCA, so this is of interest to me. This past week they have issues the findings of a task force set to outline policy in this area. The task force has not changed the church's views on homosexuality, but it has decided that local synods and congregations have can the freedom to decide how to enforce the rules. It echoes back to the "Don't ask, don't tell" days. I feel like the church is working diligently to keep two differing views on this issue together, so that the church does not split in half. Anyway, here are a couple of very interesting sites that interested parties may wish to visit.
